J.C. Bamford Excavators Limited (JCB) was founded in 1945 by Joseph Cyril Bamford. First building agricultural tipping trailers, JCB is now a world renowned brand operating on a global level, across four continents, selling JCB products in 150 countries.

JCB employs 10,000 staff, manufacturing equipment for both the agricultural and construction industry. The company produces over 300 types of machine including tractors, diggers and excavators in 22 factories across Asia, Europe, North America and South America. JCB continues to be family business, still owned by the Bamford family.

JCB is often used generically to describe diggers and excavators and is listed in the Oxford English Dictionary!
